Foundations to Flight is built for middle-level leaders in international schools who are doing the work, carrying the pressure, and figuring too much of it out alone.

You'll build practical knowledge through on-demand modules, deepen your leadership growth through 1:1 and group coaching where real challenges get real attention, and maintain momentum through regular check-ins. You have everything you need to lead with clarity, all year long.

Your growth doesn't go undocumented. A living leadership portfolio tracks your decisions, wins, and challenges navigated, building a record that shows what you've actually done, not just what you say you're capable of. You will have concrete evidence of how you lead, built over ten months. You'll finish with a certificate of completion and evidence of real leadership growth you can take into your next conversation, review, or role.

This program reflects what I know works in international schools: coaching separate from evaluation, tools that hold up in real-world conflict, and support that aligns with school-year realities.

Brought to you by Jo Brown

  • 20+ years in international education, including middle leadership, instructional coaching, and team leadership roles

  • ICF-credentialed individual and team coach with a Master’s in Educational Leadership

  • First-hand experience of the pressure points middle leaders face across the school year

  • Deep understanding of leading peers without formal authority, managing dual teaching-leadership roles, and navigating international school complexity

  • A coaching approach grounded in what middle leaders actually need to perform well - practically, emotionally, and strategically.

How is this different from what you've done before?

You've attended workshops.

You've received frameworks and inspiration.

Maybe you've even had some coaching.

What you haven't had is:

Coaching during November, when your credibility shifts from potential to performance

Support through February, when leadership strain peaks and you're most likely to burn out

A confidential space for honest reflection - separate from the people evaluating you

Accountability to build new leadership habits over time, not just learn about them

This isn't a conference you attend in August and forget by October.

It's sustained, integrated support that follows the rhythm of your school year - intensifying during the months you need it most.

This program is designed around the realities of middle-level leadership in international schools: dual roles, competing demands, and never enough time. Whether you are teaching or not.

The Support You Receive during your 10 months

Monthly Check-Ins

Monthly check-ins to keep you supported, focused, and moving forward. Used to sense-check a decision before you act on it, prepare for an upcoming difficult conversation, or get quick support when something escalates. They exist because small challenges don't wait for your next scheduled session, and catching them early stops them from becoming bigger problems.

1-1 coaching

Confidential coaching session focused on your leadership growth, not just problem-solving. This is where you clarify priorities, reflect on real decisions, build confidence, and work through difficult conversations. There's no reporting back to your principal, which means you can actually say what's true, even when you don't have it together.

Group Coaching with Peers

Group coaching sessions that bring your cohort of international middle leaders together to work through real, live challenges. Through peer consultation, shared problem-solving, and honest conversation, you realise you're not alone in what you're experiencing. This builds a network of leaders who understand your context and continue to support each other beyond the program.

Leadership Learning Modules

Practical, structured learning aligned to the challenges you actually face at each point in the school year, not generic leadership theory. The modules cover leading peers without formal authority, navigating conflict, building psychological safety, managing emotional load, and running effective meetings. Delivered through short videos, frameworks, and reflection activities, you can apply them immediately.

Leadership Portfolio

A curated body of evidence you build across the year documenting your leadership thinking, decisions, and growth in practice. Includes your leadership identity statement, meeting systems, case studies of challenging situations, and reflections on your development. It's what moves you from "they have potential" to "here's the evidence they can lead" critical for promotion, succession planning, and career advancement.

Certificate

A formal record of your professional learning, documenting 40+ hours of leadership development. Recognised by most international schools as qualifying professional development, with full documentation for HR and PD coordinators. Practically useful for your learning budget approval and professionally meaningful as a marker of sustained, structured development.
